New SSN Policy
The Trusts require the inclusion of a Social Security number (“SSN”) for a claim to be considered filed, including for purposes of the TDP statute of limitations and FIFO provisions.
Please be advised that firms will have a 30-day grace period from the date of this notice to add SSNs to any active or withdrawn claims missing SSNs. Instructions for finding claims that are missing SSNs and how to edit the claim to add a valid SSN can be downloaded from the link below. After expiration of the 30-day grace period, any claims that do not have SSNs will be rejected and any refiled claim will be subject to the Statute of Limitations and FIFO status as of the date of re-filing.
As noted above, this notice applies to any pending claims and claims previously submitted without an SSN that are in a Withdrawn or Deemed Withdrawn status. Unless the SSN is provided within 30-days, such claims are not deemed filed for purposes of statute of limitations.
